Barcelona Modern Festival

The Barcelona Modern Festival -contemporary and new creation music festival-, is born in close relationship with the Barcelona Modern International Composition Course, with the aim of filling content -now in the field of the promotion and diffusion of contemporary music, for public in general-, the formative task that carries out the Composition Course. Offering a concert program in charge of the most interesting ensembles and soloists from Spain and abroad, interpreting the consecrated works of the contemporary repertoire and new creation music, as well as being a platform of diffusion for young composers.

Besides this, the intention of the festival is to stimulate different cultural spaces in the city of Barcelona, and to build links with organizations and festivals abroad, establishing partnerships with different entities and artistic branches: L'Auditori, Institut Français-Barcelona, Fundació Joan Miró, Fundació Phonos, Pompeu Fabra University, Hiroshima Hall, Liceu High Conservatory of Music, etc., most of them becoming the festival's headquarters, scheduling some of the planned concerts.

The festival hopes to contribute to the task of formation, promotion and dissemination of contemporary music that the Associació Música Actual has been developing for years in Barcelona.
